Providing home, healing, and hope.
About:
Anchor Village will provide a place where single mothers and their children can find community, support programs, and hope after seasons of hardship. Our program will provide support for up to two years.
Rooted in the Gospel, we believe that when the local church and community come together, lives are transformed. At Anchor Village, families will be surrounded with support and opportunity, allowing legacies to be rebuilt with faith and hope for generations to come.
Who will be able to apply to live at Anchor Village?
Single mothers and their children who have experienced abuse or hardships. Future applications will be accepted on the “Apply Now” link.
Please Note: We are not a domestic violence shelter. Applicants will go through an extensive screening process including, online application, interview, criminal background checks, drug screens, and acknowledgement of all program rules/regulations.
The Need:
Affordable housing for a single income family is extremely hard to find in Pottsboro. A single mother working full-time at $15 an hour earns about $2,600 per month before taxes. HUD estimates fair market rent for a 2 bedroom unit in Grayson County at $1,226/month (2023). This means that 47% of income goes straight to rent, well above the 30% “affordable” threshold.
Community Support Services
Resident mothers will have access to counseling, support groups, bible studies, life skills classes, and experience what authentic community can feel like.
Employment Programs
Harbor Market, a support business for Anchor Village, will sell local goods and provide jobs to residents who are unemployed. Proceeds from Harbor Market will support Anchor Village.
For mothers looking for employment elsewhere, we are partnered with Texoma Workforce Solutions to provide access to other job opportunities.
Tiny Home Village
As the Lord continues to provide for Anchor Village, tiny homes will be built so that we can provide affordable housing and community to women and children who are in need.
Current Status:
After many years of praying for clarity on how to better provide support for single mothers and their children, the Lord put this dream upon our heart. A board of directors was formed, Anchor Village was incorporated with the state of Texas on September 29, 2025 and approved as a 501(c)(3) with the IRS on October 29,2025.
We are raising awareness and funds to make this vision a reality.
